The Dry Garden

7/7/2022

July can often be the hottest and driest month of the year. Watering can become laborious, although sometimes relaxing after a hard day at the office I find.

If you have free draining sandy soil and an area baked by the sun, why not create a dry garden.

Using a selection of plants which will thrive in the dry, top dress the border with stones, even add a few rocks to fill the space.

My top 5 drought loving plants:

  1. Euphorbia characias wulfenii
  2. Phlomis russeliana
  3. Sisyrinchium striatum
  4. California poppy
  5. Eremurus ‘Cleopatra’
  6. Gaura

    A year in the garden

One of the most common questions I am asked by my clients is; "what should I be doing at this time of year?"

Over the coming months I am going to post ideas and suggestions for what you could be doing to get the most out of your garden.
